The National Visa Center is the official institution responsible for all the immigration visa petitions. The NVC is retaining all pending cases until their adjudication by a consular office abroad.

To keep track the progress of your application, please click on the following link for the Department of State’s Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC).

You may contact the NVC using the following phone number 001 603 334-0700. This is an automated system, available 24 hours, seven (7) days a week. However, if you wish to speak directly with an agent, the working hours are between 7:30 AM and 12:30 AM. We recommend calling during the least busy hours, between 8 AM and 10 AM.

If you wish to contact the National Visa Center via email, you may do so at nvcinquiry@state.gov

Since most applicants prefer email, following are specific instructions, to help you receive a prompt answer:

  • Provide your full name and birthdate
  • Include your NVC case number
  • In case the petition is employment-based, indicate the company’s name

You should not make queries about more than one case at a time.
